The Handy Sex Toy Review

I am a month behind in getting back to the update on The Handy in action, but as you can see, I have invested most of March in greatly expanding this website and immersive French classes. You will reap the benefits from this soon enough. In the meantime, I spent some time with The Handy after the live unboxing. I was a little disappointed that I could not demonstrate it, at least a little bit straight out of the box, but I needed to follow the instructions provided online and included in the handbooks.

A month in, is the Handy a good sex toy?

The second dungeon I rented in Cannes (yes, there are two!) was actually a part of a rental apartment building, which means a network of Wi-Fi is shared by all the rooms. I guess it can’t connect to such Wi-Fi for security reasons. (Though come on, it might be hot if someone hacked into your masturbation device.) I had my more-than-willing victim strapped down to the bench with every intention to use the handy for slow edging while I rested my feet on his face. I pulled the little bistro table over to clamp the “hands free” arm down to keep The Handy in place. Not elegant, but functional. Well, the on-device controls sacrifice intuition for simplicity in design. Not functional, but elegant. In the end, without the remote control, I couldn’t relax and enjoy my feet being worshiped as I had to get up and fidget with the intensity. In the end, it was not the slick experience I imagined.

The masturbation sleeves are varied in feeling, and the textures are perfect. Outside of figuring everything out, I have received overwhelming positive responses to the sensations of the sleeves. The jelly material makes the sleeves feel so good, but the delicate silicon cannot be sterilized. Each sleeve stays with one person, which makes it cost prohibitive to have a playful session trying out all the different feelings. I guess you just have to keep coming back and try a different sleeve each time.

After a month, I still like it and intend to bring it out often, especially for those who prefer a specific stroke. I hope it has some improvements coming in the next year.

The Handy masturbator works by remote

Pros

  • Much lighter than the Venus 2000 or Tremblr. Easy to pack.
  • Reasonably priced compared to the major players
  • Controlling the stroke length ups the gland-teasing/pleasing game.
  • Ideal for long distance edging
  • The hands-free arm works well

Cons

  • Offline controls are less intuitive.
  • Can’t connect to hotel internet
  • Fidgety and needs to be set up before play
  • App needs to be updated often
  • The hands-free arm could be a little longer

Conclusion

The Hand offers diversity to my edging, sex toy chest, and a great traveling companion when I am playing outside of my dungeon. Will it replace the Tremblr or Venus 2000? No. Will some people prefer it? Yes. It’s a different experience. While I am super interested in the long-distance options, I have yet to try them out. I have to wait for the guinea pig to order his own and send the key to me.

The app has a lot of options and opportunities. There appears to be some excellent ideas in virtual porn and connecting on-line. It’s just not there yet. It’s really fidget-y to connect to Bluetooth, connect the hardware to the wifi, disconnect and reconnect to the device via wifi, and then fire up the app’s controls. That is, if the app has been recently updated. For me, who plans and will be used to the routine the device needs, it won’t be a problem. For most people, it will never be something to “go to in the moment.” A hand-held remote with slider controls like in the app would greatly improve The Handy’s utility.
