The celebrated designer and event promoter Latex Baroness has started something special in Beaujolais, France, beginning with a Château brimming with possibilities. She started the journey with a Femdom retreat uniting dommes to share their ideas and stories, and, yes, being served. Along with myself, The Baroness invited Kim Rub, the legendary fetish scenester and London party promoter; Axelle de Sade, Parisian dominatrix extraordinaire and founder of l’Ecole des Arts Sadien; Maya Midnight, the perkiest ballbuster ever to come out of New York City; and Lunatika, SM educator and events coordinator throughout France.

The grounds were welcoming and bustling with coming improvements. Never one to stand still, the Baroness has some huge plans for this magnificent building and grounds. The retreat still went well with feasts, wine, and champagne for the latex-clad attendees.

The future of Femdom Retreats in Beaujolauis

This was the first of many femdom and latex-themed events the Baroness had planned for her château, with the upcoming installation of a grand swimming pool and the furnishing of the many rooms. Who doesn’t fantasize about latex pool parties? Latex feels terrific in the cool water of a pool, but the harsh chemicals of a pool or the salt of sea water can quickly break down delicate (and expensive!) latex outfits. The following summer season promises to have a pool filled with latex-clad bodies and latex inflatables. It will truly be a joyful, fully immersive latex experience.

Anyone familiar with the large mansions of the French countryside knows that renovating them is no small task. The Baroness put her priorities on her elaborate latex atelier. Her first love is making beautiful, bespoke latex fashion, after all. But in anticipation of hosting future femdom retreats and latex lovers from all over the globe, she has many bedrooms to remodel and furnish. And her remodeling will reflect her bright, welcoming style.

Unlike other fetish events or femdom retreat I have experience before, there was a true sense of being out in the open and not locked away in the shadows. A sense of freedom to be oneself openly, as opposed to slinking away under the cover of shadows. We were out in the open air. Granted, in the rural farmland of France, amid hills and hills of wineries’ vineyards, but out in the open, quand-même. For someone like me who has “double life fatigue,” I welcome all events where I do not have to hide in the corners and shadows.

The end of Baroness’ Femdom Retreat 2023

Towards the end of the weekend, all the ladies sat in the shade, drinking tea and champagne in an impromptu salon and discussing our domination styles. One of the questions posed by Kim Rub was, “If your domination style could be represented as an animal, what animal would that be?” The overwhelming response was feline. Large cats, prowling, pouncing, slinking in the shadows. I enjoyed each domina’s visceral response, each one panamiming her own version of a cat. Me, I felt a little different in my philosophy. I chose the animal incarnation of my domination style as a Mama Bear. Strong, content in herself, she enjoys toying with her cubs playfully, for connection, enjoyment, and growth. But mess with the Mama Bear’s cubs and you will feel her wrath. That’s just me, I feel super protective of my submissives. (You can read more about my domination philosophy.)

The weekend of June 23-25 ended too soon, but I am sure there will be many more femdom retreats in the future for those fortunate enough to win an invite.
